The aviary through the years
Of course we didn't stop. See how the aviary has evolved over the years below.
The hatching process
Cameracheck
Control and rest is de basis
We have installed a camera in each breeding block. In this way we have continuous visibility and control over what is happening. Thanks to this technology, we can monitor whether the young are being fed and react quickly if problems arise. You can also observe the behavior of the birds, such as when they go broody or when they don't match each other. A second important aspect of the camera is the peace it offers the bird. Thanks to the camera we don't have to enter the aviary every time, this way we don't let the animal get scared and they get some rest.
The egg
We use a candling lamp to see if the egg is fertilized. Afterwards, the weight and heart rate are monitored.
The first hours
For the first 24 hours, the young has enough food on its own. It is important that the digestion process succeeds before feeding yourself. If necessary, this is initiated with physiological water.
The young
The young will be raised by the parents in the following weeks. If problems occur here, the young is hand-fed.
fully grown
When the young can eat independently, it will move to its own aviary.
